In less than two months from now, we will bring you as much news as possible from the biggest watch exhibition in the world. A couple of brands give us a little sneak preview of what’s coming, such as Omega with their new Speedmaster Racing or in this case, Alpina with their Seastrong Horological Smartwatch. And it is already available!
Alpina Seastrong Horological Smartwatch
Alpina continues to expand their collection of horological smartwatches. Just before BaselWorld 2017, they now introduce their Alpina Seastrong Horological Smartwatch. This time, they’ve packed their Horological Smartwatch in a pretty looking divers watch. It is the same digital component as used in the Frederique Constant smart watches, that is able to track activities, monitor your sleep, send notifications and so on. We’ve talked about its functionality in these reviews here and here. We suggest to read those articles if you are interested in the functionality of these watches.
Where Alpina already released a sportier horological smartwatch than the Frederique Constant models, they will now come up with a divers watch with smartwatch functionality. It is called the Alpina Seastrong Horological Smartwatch. We reviewed their Seastrong Diver Heritage in this article, but that was a mechanical tribute to one of the vintage Alpina models from long time ago. We are now talking about a modern divers watch based on their Seastrong Diver 300 Automatic collection.
All features are accessible via the crown and are easy to use. You can pair your watch with either an Android or iOS device using the MMT-365 app. MMT is the company that – on collaboration with Alpina and FC – designed the AL-282 module that goes inside these watches.
The Alpina Seastrong Horological Smartwatch has a black dial, but is available with four different bezel colors: black, blue, green and orange. Other specifications are:
- Materials: Glass-fibre and stainless steel
- Crystal: Sapphire crystal
- Dial: Black with applied luminous indexes
- Water resistance: 100 Meters / 330ft
- Case Diameter: 44mm
- Strap: Rubber
- Battery life: 4+ years
- Functions: Always-On Time / Activity Tracking / Sleep Monitoring / Sleep Cycle Alarms / Get-Active Alerts / Dynamic Coaching / Cloud Backup & Restore / Mobile notifications
For those who do not want the watch with the fruit logo, this might be a very attractive alternative in a more conventional (divers) watch design.
Price is set to a very attractive 595 Euro, including sales taxes.
